Amber Docters van Leeuwen, 1984, cellist, graduated from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and won the coveted 2008 National Cello Competition in the Netherlands. Amber lives in New York with her husband, Ruben Samama (bassist Jef Neve Trio), where she received a Masters Degree from Manhattan School of Music.  She also received the Pablo Casals and Van Lier Awards!  In addition to classical and contemporary repertoire, Amber is also known for her studio work which includes working with Jef Neve (Imaginary Road) and Bobby Mc Ferrin (Indian Music).  Amber is forging ahead with an international career in both Europe and America.

February 13, 2011 saw Amber’s acclaimed New York debut concert at Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall. Its success means that the concert programme will be recorded to CD in Belgium in early September 2011.

This extraordinary concert is dedicated to preparing for the CD recording, courtesy of Jef Neve for his reference to concert @ home, where he clearly retains a good memory of his recent concert there.
